Where Will CNU go in 2020?

CNU, Friday, June 16, 2017

American cities are taking the lead in responding to global challenges such as climate change, immigration, and new technologies now reshaping urban form. Many cities are using New Urbanist approaches to meet these challenges. From human-scaled designs for climate resilience to planning and coding for affordable housing and active public spaces, cities are boldly showing the possibilities for this century.

For its 28th annual Congress in 2020, CNU seeks a strong, visionary host city, a city that is embracing the role of New Urbanism in meeting its own most pressing challenges. The host city should be a place for CNU members to learn - where local leaders, innovators, and communities across the city and region mobilize and leverage a movement of placemakers.

We anticipate that CNU 28 will be an opportunity for urgent, globally focused yet locally rooted discussion, viewed through the lens of a diverse, imaginative, and great American city, with a local host committee that demonstrates New Urbanist principles on the ground.
